Barking deer in Dulahazra Safari Park at Chokoria about 107 kilometers from Chittagong on March 30, 2007. Barking Deer /Maya Horin (Muntiacus muntjak) are deer of the genus Muntiacus, also known as Muntjac. Barking Deer are the oldest known deer. The species are native to Southeast Asia and can be found from Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka to southern China, Taiwan and Indonesian islands. Males have short antlers which can regroup but tend to fight with their tusks (downward pointing canine teeth) for territory.
