AN OLD-FASHIONED DINING-ROOM demands less floor space for convenient service thana long table of equal seating capacity. Thus a roundtable five feet in diameter, or thereabouts, will ac-commodate a party of eight with comfort, while adiameter of some six feet will allow of ten or moreseats. Hence a floor space of fifteen feet across willbe ample provision for the table of an average house-hold, making allowance for other dining-room furni-ture outside of this space.
