Young woman selling Betel Nut.

Throughout Myanmar and Southeast Asia, it is common to find betel nut being sold which is a legal narcotic. People who chew this substance can easily be spotted by their red teeth and gums discolored by the paste. In Myanmar the betel nut leaf is first smeared with lime paste before breaking the nut onto the paste. Then the leaf is rolled up and given to the customer to chew like tobacco. Those who have tried betel nut say it produces an intoxicating feeling.
