A silver-mounted French smallsword, circa 1760 Tapering colichemard blade of triangular section with original polish. Silver hilt with a large finely pierced guard plate. Quillons and knuckle-bow decorated in relief with floral cartouches. The grip with elaborate silver wire winding and Turk's heads. Olive-shaped pommel embellished with martial trophies in relief, and pierced on the sides. Original leather scabbard with engraved and chased silver mountings.
