A male Grey-tailed or Gray-tailed Mountaingem - Lampornis cinereicauda, and a male Magnificent Hummingbird, Eugenes fulgens, face off in territorial combat over a nearby feeding site in the Savegre River Valley in Costa Rica. Until recently it was believed to be a subspecies of the white-throated mountaingem, Lampornis castaneoventris.
