On the east side of the same lane was the inn or town residenceof the abbot of St. Mary, in St. Gregorys Church, 1647. St. Gregorys church stood at the south-west corner of St. Paulscathedral. And king Richard II. inhis 16th year, presented a rector to this benefice.
