Costaleros carrying a trono during the Semana Santa Processions

A "Trono" (a float depicting a scene from the Easter story of Christ) is carried through the streets of Cartagena, Spain, during the traditional processions of Semana Santa (Holy Week). At times during the procession, the costaleros will lift the trono up high, as shown here, usually encouraged by by shouts of "Viva!" from the crowd, and especially at significant places, such as when passing a church.
