He was buried Thursday, February 17. His death will recall him to many in the trade. For a number of years he con- ducted the Philip B. Welsh range at Waverly. He is survived by his widow and several children. Another item re- garding his death appears in the obituary column of this issue. Mary Johnston did the largest St. Valentine's day business in the firm's history. There was a time when the ]iublic thought that 50 cents or $1 was enough for a valentine, but this year $3 to $5 was the popular price. Robert L. Graham's uptown store also did a big business. Here also splendid prices were realized. Samuel Feast & Sons report a splendid business. The same at John Cook's and William J. Halliday's. In fact, every store in the city reports a fine trade for St. Valentine's
