Having accumulated a competence, in 1880 came to San Francisco and decided tomake this city his home. In 1888 he erected hispresent residence at No. 2160 Vallejo street,and here he is spending the twilight of his daysin peace and plentv, renewing his youth with theyounger generation and proving always an en-tertaining and interesting companion. He wasmarried in 1857 to Miss Augusta Elliot, a nativeof Bath, Me. Thev have one daughter, OliveEveleth, who is the wife of George W. Brooks,secretary and superintendent of the Califor-nia Insurance Company of San Francisco, and.
