This has been done with the Anderson 173, which consists simply of a steel, spiral spring foreach sash, from f inch to -J inch in diameter. The springs arefastened to the hanging-style of the window-frame and to thesashes, and are made of just sufficient strength to sustainthe sash in any position, so that a very slight exertion is sufficientto move it either up or down.
