Kau Cim, fortune telling sticks in the Chinese Thean Hou Temple, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The sticks are dropped in a bunch, leaving one sticking up above the rest. The number on that stick denotes the drawer from which the paper fortune is to be retrieved. Chinese Fortune Sticks are also known as the Oracle of Kuan Yin, and Kuan Yin is also known as Guanyin or Guanshiyin, the Goddess of Mercy.
