ALLIED ARMIES RELEASE INTERNEES - Happy internees after their relase. In the background are the huts in which they had lived for so long, single men in dormitory huts and married couples in separate room. They said their treatment had not been good. Just before liberation by the 8th Army a typical example of Prussianism had killed seven and wounded many of the internees. A German fighter plane had been disabled by a Spitfire and as it came down to crash-land the pilot deliberately machine-gunned the eamp, which at that time was several miles behind the German lines British Army
