Dorothea Klumpke Roberts, circa 1886. Klumpke (1861-1942) was an American astronomer working in France. She was Director of the Bureau of Measurements at the Paris Observatory and was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. In 1889, she became the first recipient of the Prix de Dames from the Societie des Astronomique de France. In 1893, she was made an Officier d'Academe of the Paris Academy of Sciences, a first for a woman. Colorized.
