Green Drgon on St George's Day on Saturday, 23rd April. Blackburn, Lancashire, UK ‘Here Be Dragons' event in The Mall, Blackburn Market and on the Cathedral Grounds, invited visitors to follow the green dragons trail with live street theatre and musical performances of human size puppet actors from different internationally acclaimed theatre productions using amazing mechanical contraptions.
The Blackburn Town Centre Partnership identified a BID (Business Improvement District) as an ideal mechanism to develop a dynamic business environment in Blackburn town centre. The Blackburn Town Centre BID has the potential to raise £ million over the 5 years, starting in 2014, to invest in local projects and services under these themes. This will be in addition to, and complimentary to, the services already delivered by the local authority and other agencies, and planned strategic investments in the area such as the Cathedral Quarter, new bus station and expanding college campus.
