Mazuret was sent as the 330 HISTORY OF THE DIOCESE OF first pastor, and through his efforts thechurch was plastered and made inhabit-able. He also built the steeple to it andduring his stay from September 15, 1889to April 27, 1891, erected the priests resi-dence, both of which, the house and thechurch, he painted himself. Other pastors were: Rev. J. A. Sauriol from May 3rd toJune 7, 1891. Rev. Michael Letellier from June 27,1891 to May II, 1893. Rev. Joseph Wallace during SACRED HEART CHURCH, MIKADO, MICHIGAN. Rev. A. Poulin from October 7, 1893to May 12, 1895. Rev. Fabian Pawler during August1895. Rev. Anthony Hodnik from September8th to October 31, 1895. Rev. John Burns from November i, 1895 to May 10, 1896. Rev. Fabian S. Marceau from May 24, 1896 to May 25, 1898. Rev. John Henn from June 7, 1898 to October 6, 1901.* Father Barth of Stephenson attended to theparish in May, June and July, 1900, while FatherHenn was administrator in Menominee. Rev. Peter F. Manderfield from No-vember 20, 1901 to October 12, 1902. Hegave the priests house a much needed anda thorough over-hauling. Rev. Frederick Sperlein, the presentpastor from November 16, 1902. The original church was 50x32 feetand proved after four years too Poulin added twenty feet to it anda roomy sacristy; the unsightly windowswere
