Gaza, Palestinian territories. 2 January 2022. Three huge explosions occur west of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, after the site was targeted by the Israel Air Force early Sunday. Israeli tanks also shelled the north of the Palestinian enclave near its border with Israel. According to the Israeli military, the attacks were retaliatory strikes against Hamas military posts following two rockets fired from Gaza on Saturday. The rockets had landed in the Mediterranean Sea off central Israel
