Petermann island in the Wilhelm Archipelago contains colonies of both Southern Gentoo (Pygoscelis papua ellsworthi) and Adelie (Pygoscelis adeliae) penguins and is a favourite sightseeing trip for cruise ship passengers. It is separated from Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula via the Penola Strait.
