19th century postcard of the interior of St George's Church, Woolwich Garrison, London, circa 1900. The dhurch was designed by Thomas Henry Wyatt in a Early Christian/Lombardic Romanesque style with Byzantine influences in the interior, not dissimilar to Wyatt's design for Wilton Parish Church in Building started in 1862 and it was consecrated 1863. The church suffered severe bomb damage in 1944, and was finally demolished in 1970, retaining parts of the building as a memorial.
