A sabre for a "Sapeur de la Garde Constitutionelle",1789 - 1792. A straight single-edged blade with wide fullers on both sides,and a double-edged point with yelmen. Cock's head hilt with feathered pattern grip and the quillons curving towards the blade. Remnants of the fire gilding preserved. It comes with a non-matching,old leather scabbard with brass fittings and an iron chape. Length 91 cm. Blade length ca. 74 cm.
