Mention Th«» ReTl»w when yon write. sectional boiler, the dimensions of whieh are as follows: Length, fifty- five inches; height, fifty-six inches; width, forty-three inches; fire-pot, 31x 32 inches. The top of the boiler is even with the greenhouse floor, and the return pipes drop two and one-half or three feet from the floor to the boiler. Please tell me whether the boiler and pipes are large enough and whether the pipes are connected right, as I cannot get enough heat in the greenhouses to keep the plants from freezing, when we have our coldest South Dakota weather. A. D. So far as one can judge from the description given, the radiation is suf- ficient for 60 degrees in the old house and for 55 degrees in the new one, and the boiler is sufficiently large for the radiation. In fact, there is a sur- plus of fully fifty per cent in the boiler capacity. It is stated that the feed pipes have a fall of fifteen feet one inch. While this may mean that there is a difference of fifteen feet one inch between the highest part of the flow pipe and the return, I am of the opinion that what it was intended to say was that the flow pipes have a fall of one inch in fifteen feet. I am not able, from the description, to locate the trouble. I would sug- gest, however, that in the new house either one 2i/^-inch main return or two 2-inch pipes be used instead of one 2-inch return. The letter does not state where the flow pipes are carried in the old house. If they are on the wall plates
