E. coli in cattle research. Microbiologists analysing molecular fingerprint patterns for Escherichia coli O157:H7 bacteria in studies of supershedding cattle. Escherichia coli O157:H7 is an enterohaemorrhagic serotype of the bacterium Escherichia coli and a cause of illness, typically through consumption of contaminated food. It can naturally be found in the intestinal contents of some cattle.
