Wat Arun is also called the Temple of the Dawn, standing on the banks of the Chao Phraya river in the Thon Buri area. The towers are called the "Phra Prang," It is across river from Wat Pho, which holds the Golden Reclining Bhudda. The monastery has existed for many years since the days when Ayutthaya was capital of Thailand. It was then named Wat Mokok, situated in a place called Tumbol Bangmakok
