T, R. West, , heard the words of the Master himself sayingI am the resurrection and the life. She had passed her three scoreand ten, lacking about five months of being seventy-five years of fifty four years, three months and eight days she was the faith-ful companion of her husband, who is left to mourn his She was born near Bluff City, Sullivan County, Tennessee, January7, 1839. She was converted in early childhood, and the witness of theSpirit obtained in her conversion was the beginning of a long, beautifulChristian life, a life that has adorned her home, inspired her husband,blessed the community in which she lived, instilled into her childrenslives a faith and confidence in God, who is able to keep that which iscommitted to Him. Her sympathy for the hungry, for the sick, for the needy and thedistressed was more than mere words. She ministered to such in thespirit of the Master, and in eternity there will be those who will riseup to call her blessed. On the 22d of May, 1820, she was united in marriage to Dr. T. , and to this union eight children were born, two girls and six 10 HOLSTON ANNUAL CONFERENCE boys. Two of these died in infancy, and Oscar L. West died June 7,1900. The surviving children are: Mrs. S. A. Bowen, of Chattanooga;G. H. West, of Dayton; Clyde West, of Maryvil
