Isidore Exelmans French soldier, Battle of Rocquencourt, 1815 (1897). Remi Joseph Isidore Exelmans (1775-1852) was a distinguished French soldier of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, as well as a political figure of the following period. Rocquencourt, a suburb of Paris, was the scene of the last battle fought by Napoleon's Grande Armee, after their defeat at Waterloo. An illustration from Le Petit Journal, 14th February 1897.
