A cut and etched Venetian linstock,circa 1600 Blade with vertical openwork,lightly grooved on both sides,and bearing etchings of figures and other ornamentation. Openwork base in the shape of a monster with dragonheads cut on the sides. The socket has floral engraving and six loops,each chiselled with a face(one replacement). Round wooden shaft with a conical iron shoe and two nailed languets. The shoe bears the stamp "FR". Iron parts somewhat pitted,some remnants of copper and brass solder.
