Stunning vista of the Riserva Naturale del Ponte del Diavolo, Lanzo valley and the Stura River, Lanzo, Piedmont, Italy

The Ponte del Diavolo nature reserve (Pont dël Ròch in Piedmont, literally stone bridge) is a protected natural area, more precisely a nature reserve under regional management, located in the municipality of Lanzo Torinese, Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont. It takes its name from the bridge of the same name which, according to legend, it was the devil himself who built it after it collapsed twice. In exchange, the devil would have taken the soul of the first to cross the bridge with him, and for this a little dog was made to pass. The devil, getting angry, would have violently slammed his paws on the surrounding rocks forming the characteristic "Marmitte dei Giganti", still visible today behind the Chapel of San Rocco, at the entrance to the bridge on the Lanzo side.
