Wall painting of an arabesque with stag and cupid (top) and a panel with a mask of Pan (below), both from Domus Vedi Sirici or House of Siricus, Illustration drawn by Discanno and lithographed by Victor Steeger from Emile Presuhn's "Les Decorations Murales de Pompei," Weigel, Leipzig, 1878. German archeologist Presuhn (1844-1881) lived in Italy for eight years and, with Mr. Discanno, made exact copies of many wall paintings that are now lost.
