Before spring there will be a shortage of good Boston ferns. Don't expand too fast. Going beyond one's capital leads to diflSculties. A BIG business is a nice thing to have, but a better one is a business which owes nothing but the current month's bills. CONSIDERABLE quantities of carnation plants are being benched following early mums, but many good plants will freeze in the field. Christmas comes right on the heels of Thanksgiving this year. Unless you are well forward with your preparations, it is time to get busy. Collections are improving, but there are sections of the country where it will take some months of good business to enable florists to wipe their slates. Indications all point to an excellent season's business in this trade.
