In this historical photograph from March 1966, Captain Edwin W. Besch, USMC, can be seen during Operation Wayne, south of Phu Bai. Captain Besch is pictured armed with a German Walter P-38 9-mm pistol and an M3A1 .45 cal. submachine gun that he took from a VC who led an attack on the TF Delta Camp at Tam Ky during Operation Double Eagle II.
