JAPANESE FERN If Japanese Fern Ball is a bunch of hardy fern roots wrapped with JT moss and tied into a ball. The dry ball is soaked in water for a half hour and hung up almost anywhere in the house where it is warm, and watered daily. In three or four weeks the roots begin to grow, and the whole is soon a mass of beautiful ferns. They grow and thrive until fall, when the leaves begin to fade. The ball should then be given a rest for about four months, being placed in the cellar and watered occasionally to keep the roots from drying out. Then the ball may again be brought to the light, it doing even better the second than the first season. They may be hung in arches or windows, or over the dining table, and are not only odd and unusual, but also exceedingly beautiful. We offer the "Nagaha" variety, which produce long leaves, and these must not be compared in price with the short leaved sort, which do not give as good satisfaction, because the roots show beneath the leaves.
