Betws y Coed, Wales, Pont-y-pair Bridge waterfalls looking West from the bridge.
Pont y Pair, the "Bridge of the Cauldron" is a landmark in the village of Betws y Coed in the Conwy Valley, North Wales. Though to be precise the bridge crosses the Llugwy River not far from its convergence with the Conwy. Built in 1468, the old bridge is buffeted by foaming water after heavy rain. The view of the falls from Pont y Pair is a real wonder of Wales. In the summer months youngsters jump over the parapet into the pool below, though this is deemed to be dangerous.
