Early postcard image showing Baptistem or Baptiste Hugo 'Giant of the Alps', who it is said was seven and a half feet tall. His younger brother Antoine was also a giant. His father (on the ladder), mother and other siblings were of normal stature, though a grandfather and grandmother were over 6 ft in height. Hugo was born at Saint-Martin (France).
