Capt. John A. McGurty Jr., Marine Forces Reserve force surgeon, received a Legion of Merit award during the annual MARFORRES Surgeon’s Conference at Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, Feb. 6, 2015. He was presented the award by Vice Admiral Robin R. Braun, Chief of Navy Reserve, for providing medical support to Marines at Marine Forces Central command from March 2011 to July 2014 as the force surgeon.
