Margaret Harwood (1885-1979), US astronomer. Harwood studied and worked at the Harvard Observatory. From 1916 to 1957, she directed the Maria Mitchell Observatory on Nantucket Island, running its female-founded and female-run non-profit science education institute. Harwood spent summers on the island doing research and conducting classes.
