To meet this growingilesire, the university appropriated the large field north of the Mechanical and Electrical Buildings forclass athletics. A football and baseball field wasgraded off for each class. In this manner themaximum number of students derive the beneficial side of ath-letics. Regular schedules are made out in each branch of athleticsand played out with a snap and rivalry that almost equals the varsitygames. The athletic association stimulates class athletics by offering ahandsome cup to the winning team in each of the branches.
