He mar-ried Mary Kidder, of Grafton, Vt.,and in 1824 went to Georgia, Vt.,where he hid charge of an academyfor iwo years, meanwliile studyinglaw. He afterward practiced law inthat State. While he was in Georgia he was for sometime a member of the Governors staff, with the titleof Governors Aid, and at a somewhat earlier periodwas Captain of a comiiany of State militia. In 1831he removed to Michigan, and settled at White Pigeon,where he engaged in mercantile business with I. years after, 1834, Mr. Barry removed to Con- I stantine and continued his mercantile pursuits.
