Despite the Chief Executive Carrie Lam's attempt to ease the heightened tension by agreeing to suspend the controversial extradition bill, student groups and union has continue the protest against Hong Kong government. The protesters called for the withdrawal of the controversial extradition bill, the release and non-prosecution of the people arrested due to the cause, investigation of whether excessive force had been used by the police on June 12, and the resignation of Carrie Lam.
