Tyrannosaurus rex refurbishment. Technician assembling a steel support armature onto the fossilised skeleton of a ÂTyrannosaurus rex (T- rex). The skeleton was assembled at Phil Fraley Productions, USA. The original skeleton was exhibited at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. It was first mounted over 100 years ago in a posture that is now thought to be incorrect. The newly refurbished T-rex will be redisplayed at the museum as if fighting over a fresh kill. T-rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, measuring 5 metres tall and weighing 7 tonnes. It lived in North America and Asia during the late Cretaceous period, between 85 and 65 million years ago. Photographed in 2007.
