It may be proper to state here, that in all these dislocations, a greatamount of force is frequently necessary, so much so, that large drops ofsweat will stand on the forehead of the operator and assistants, even beforethe reduction has been effected. 3. The Third Dislocation is backward,into a cavity called the Sciatic Notch; thisdislocation is very difficult to detect, as wellas to reduce.
