Pectoral f to -^ total length,formed of 8 rays, first longest and strong. First 4 ventral rays more orless produced, sometimes reaching caudal. Caudal pointed, median raysnearly twice as long as head. Olive above, jellow or silvery beneath, more or less tingedwith carmine; a few blackish dots on the body; sometimes dark bandsacross the back ; fins pink, with small, round, purplish-brown spots,forming cross-bands on the pectorals, which are dark purple on theinner side and towards the end ; dark bars across the lower jaw.
