Steam coach. Historical artwork of a steam coach patented by Englishman David Gordon around the 1820s. At this time engineers became occupied with creating steam-powered coaches for paying customers. Gordon's design had legs and feet (lower centre), in imitation of horses, in addition to wheels. It was not a very successful vehicle. Published in History and progress of the steam engine, England, 1830.
