Jose Ramirez, a Nevada Army National Guard combat engineer with the 609th Engineer Company (Sapper), maneuvers through scrub brush en route to his next NCO Skills testing station on the land navigation course at the 2014 Region VII Best Warrior Competition. This regional competition showcases Soldiers and NCOs from eight different states and territories, testing their knowledge of Army regulations, basic Soldier and NCO skills and physical capabilities to decide who will represent Region VII at the National Competition as the best Soldier and NCO of 2014.
