A redesign of Valletta's historic City Gate, prinicipal entrance to the walled capital of Malta, by Italian Architect Renzo Piano was completed in 2015. Additional projects to embellish the entrance area and the city's waterfront are underway in preparation for Valletta's 2018 celebration as the European Capital of Culture.
