Scene from a tragedy from the house of the Patrician or Centenary (Casa del Centenario), Regio IX, Insula VIII. Illustration drawn by Discanno and lithographed by Victor Steeger from Emile Presuhn's "Choix des plus Belles et Interessantes Peintures de Pompei," Weigel, Leipzig, 1882. German archeologist Presuhn (1844-1881) lived in Italy for eight years and, with Mr. Discanno, made exact copies of many wall paintings that are now lost.
