Edward Converse and two others sent to explore. 1636. Grants of land made to Ezekiel and Thomas Richardson. 1637. Very mild 143 1638. Waterfield supply lots laid out and laid out by Edw. Converse and 1640. Woburn a grant by Gen. Court to Charlestown, and called Charlestown Village. Town explored by Norwell, Converse andothers. Committee searched for the grant of two milessquare (Woburn) May 15. Tree fall, and miraculous escape of party, Sept. General Court voted to found CharlestownVillage, (Woburn.) Seven Commissioners, viz.; Edward Converse,Edward Johnson, Ezekiel Richardson, JohnMousall, Thomas Graves, Samuel Richard-son and Thomas Richardson appointed tosettle town, Nov. 5.
