ISLAND OF EIGG, SCOTLAND - 1st NOVEMBER 2007: Alister Kirk, 41, wheels away a barrow of building scrap. With his wife Sue he is building an extension to their house where they will run as a restaurant. "The impact of electrification for us is enormous. We always used to worry that our inverter or our generator would break down - then you can be weeks without power.
