It is fastened tothe walnut framing with extra size brass studs, andsome neglige trellis fringe is added to finish. It seemsto me that such quilted upholstery might be applied tomany modern chairs where shallow stuffing is hair is substituted for feathers, a comfortable andpleasing result could be obtained without the stuffinessand fragility of bottoming. Altogether this old chairlooks commanding as the center-piece in the large glasscase in which it is preserved.
