Angiography. Medical staff member checking recordings of the electrical activity of a patient's heart on screens in an angiography room. Angiography use a radio-opaque contrast medium injected into the blood, and multiple X-rays taken from different angles around the patient's body, to show the structure and size of the blood vessels. This allows doctors to spot any narrowing or damage to the vessels and direct procedures carried out on them, such as correction of the electrical activity.
