Boulder County authorities learned of the Marshall Fire at about 11 , Dec. 30, 2021. Spurred by high winds and recent dry weather, the fire burned about 6,219 acres, destroyed 991 structures and damaged an additional 127 buildings, according to Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle. Most of the destroyed structures were homes in the town of Superior and the city of Louisville.
