1999 St Helier Jersey Channel Islands. The Liberation statue Liberation 1995, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jersey's liberation from Nazi occupation, a sculpture was erected in "Liberation Square", in front of the Pomme d'Or Hotel, the focal point for the celebrations when the island was Liberation Sculpture, which forms the centrepiece of a new square created on St Helier's waterfront is by Philip Jackson. The plinth represents the island,the sculpture, the people; the moat the sea and and the 12 fountains represent 12 parishes St Helier Jersey
